What got you interested in working as a speech therapist?

I always knew I wanted a career that would allow me to help people and work with kids. After shadowing a family friend who was an SLP, I was hooked!

What do you love most about being a speech therapist?

Being able to make a difference in the lives of clients and their families. There is no better feeling than seeing a child reach a milestone in their communication development. Celebrating big and small victories with families is a privilege that will never lose its excitement or joy.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love reading, baking, traveling, music, spending time with family and friends, yoga, and hiking!

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I taught English in China.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

Using play and everyday routines to create engaging and meaningful experiences for your child’s language development. Getting down on the floor with your kiddo and following their lead goes a long way in encouraging your child to use language in a natural and motivating way. I love using toys, songs, games, social interactions, crafts, and books!

Is there anything else you want to share?

I am so grateful to be a part of the FRPT team!
