What got you interested in working as an occupational therapist?
I volunteered at a Constraint Induced Movement Therapy Camp at a local Children’s Hospital when I was 14. I was so inspired by the occupational therapists and their roles in facilitating children’s participation during play and daily living tasks. Seeing a smile and increased independence from a child at the end of the camp made me realize occupational therapy was going to be my passion!
What do you love most about working as an occupational therapist?
I have loved getting to know all the staff at FRPT. I have seen the meaningful, quality care that FR therapists provide to their patients, families, and community. I look forward to joining this great team and being a dedicated and collaborative support to those I provide services to.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to cook, read, exercise, scrapbook, and take adventures with my husband and dog, Blazer!
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I grew up along the beaches in New Jersey!
What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?
I believe that movement is incredibly empowering for children. Whether that looks like participation in an organized sport, creating obstacle courses around the house, or understanding the environment while seated on a swing, movement opens up possibilities that encourage interests, confidence, and regulation to participate in everyday life!
