Jackie B

PT, DPT

What got you interested in working as a physical therapist?

I learned about PT while working in emergency medicine, as an EMT. I fell in love with the profession that helped uplift and heal the people that I was working with on the ambulance and in the emergency department. I love that this profession helps people return to doing the things they love. It was during graduate school that I discovered pediatric PT and now I love helping my young friends live and move better and help families understand their little ones.

What do you love most about working as a physical therapist?

I love learning about my clients and their families and discovering what is important to them, and then helping them achieve their goals.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I love to hike, camp, and spend time with my husband and our two dogs.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I love to teach! I currently serve as adjunct faculty for two doctoral programs and I greatly enjoy serving as a clinical instructor for student physical therapists.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

Go to the park/playground! Climbing and swinging on playground equipment is a great way to build strength and provide input to help little bodies develop.
