MOT OTR/L

What got you interested in working as an occupational therapist?

I have always been passionate about working with people, especially children. My interest in occupational therapy as a career stems from its opportunities to work with individuals across the lifespan in such a variety of spaces. OT is the perfect blend of science, creativity, and play, allowing me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

What do you love most about working as an occupational therapist?

What I love most about being an occupational therapy is its emphasis on relationships and play. It’s incredible to see how play can be the most powerful vehicle to help children climb their developmental ladder and build brain-body connections. Collaborating with families and children to unlock new capacities holds so much joy!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work you can definitely find me outside! I love rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing. If I am not playing in the mountains, I am probably reading or spending time with family and friends!

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I am a dual citizen! I am also an Irish citizen – both my maternal grandparents are from Ireland.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

I focus on implementing strategies and tools from the DIR/Floortime model,  following the child’s lead and interest to encourage learning and growth. From there, I like to pull in sensory-motor play like movement, swinging, crashing, and shaving cream!
