What got you interested in working as a speech therapist?

I was introduced to the field of speech-language pathology as a child with a speech sound disorder, which inspired me to pursue a career as an SLP. After earning my master’s degree, I quickly discovered my love for home-health; providing therapy in a child’s most natural environment allows for meaningful connection, collaboration, and growth that is truly unparalleled. I am so proud to work alongside the FRPT team, whose values of child-led, play-based, and family-centered care align with my own!

What do you love most about being a speech therapist?

My greatest joy as an SLP has been growing as a neurodiversity-affirming clinician. Specializing in the areas of AAC, gestalt processing, and sensory and emotional regulation has allowed me to support children in finding meaningful ways to communicate and connect with the world around them. Empowering families to recognize and celebrate their child’s strengths is deeply fulfilling, and I am so grateful to partner with families throughout their journey.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I am passionate about traveling. My husband and I recently visited my 36th country. Now as parents, I am excited to continue exploring the world and experiencing new cultures with our son.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I love to dance! I danced professionally for five seasons as a Denver Nuggets Dancer and a Denver Broncos Cheerleader.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

I love creating a “challenge” for caregivers to limit their questions and demands. I encourage families to trade questions for playful comments, songs, and games while reading books, playing with toys, or simply going about daily routines. When interactions feel fun and pressure-free, communication grows naturally. After all, no one likes being quizzed all day!
