What got you interested in working as a speech therapist?
While I was working as a service coordinator in the Early Intervention field, I was continually exposed to the work of ST’s, and I thought it was such an awesome career! Working to ensure everyone has a way to communicate with others is crucial to one’s overall happiness! I knew pretty quickly I wanted to be a part of helping others live their best lives!
What do you love most about working with FRPT?
I love FRPT! Everyone is so kind and helpful and wants the best for their clients!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In my spare time, I enjoy working out and spending time with my family outdoors, especially hiking and biking. I also enjoy coaching soccer and volunteering at my daughter’s school.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
ST is my second career. My first career was as a social worker.
What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?
I am a huge fan of caregivers reading with their kiddos! It has so many speech and language benefits! You can work on speech sounds, vocabulary, WH questions, literacy skills, just to name a few! In my opinion, you can get the most bang for your buck simply by reading with kiddos, and it’s an enjoyable activity that creates a great opportunity for bonding!
