Clare C

MS OTR/L

What got you interested in working as an occupational therapist?

I discovered OT while teaching yoga by way of a student who was friends with a pediatric OT.  While working with this clinician, I developed a passion & appreciation for how OTs support others through meaningful, purposeful activities.

What do you enjoy most about being an OT?

As an OT, I love building relationships with my patients & their families – it’s an honor to be welcomed into their worlds.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy practicing yoga, volunteering at the botanic gardens, thrifting, cooking, watching movies, & adventuring with my husband.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

Like Eloise, I lived in a hotel for a summer between 3rd & 4th grade.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

I encourage families to incorporate their loved one’s interests into functional activity – anything from a favorite song to Paw Patrol.  Additionally, I encourage families to play & learn together through games or multi-step tasks (IE: making slime).
