I’m writing this letter to give a standing ovation (with clear articulation, of course) to the extraordinary Stephanie R, speech therapist and communication specialist, who has worked with my daughter for over two years—and what a well-spoken journey it’s been! Whether they were working on those tricky “R” sounds, blending consonants, or tackling sneaky multisyllabic tongue-twisters, Stephanie always brought her A-game—along with flashcards, games, and more creative visuals than the arts teacher. She somehow turned drills into adventures and worksheets into laughter. My daughter may be shy, but with Stephanie’s phonomenal support, she found a way to say it loud-ish and proud. And let’s talk commitment: Stephanie didn’t just show up—she showed out. From cozy zoom visits, kitchen table visits with loudness from my autistic son, to sessions in the backyard (yes, the backyard—complete with sunshine, barking dogs, and the occasional rogue soccer ball), she was always willing to meet us where we were. Rain or shine, indoors or out, she brought the same warm energy and made speech work feel like playtime. In short, Stephanie Rolf is the speech MVP, the fluency fairy, and the queen of communication. We are beyond grateful to have had her steady voice, gentle guidance, and unmatched enthusiasm as part of our lives.
