Lactation Counseling

Compassionate Support for Your Feeding Journey

Breastfeeding can be natural, but that doesn’t always mean it’s easy.

Whether you’re preparing for your baby’s arrival, navigating feeding challenges, returning to work, or simply looking for reassurance, our Certified Lactation Counselor provides personalized support tailored to your family’s unique needs and goals.

At Front Range Pediatric Therapies, we understand that feeding is about more than nutrition. It’s about connection, confidence, and helping your baby thrive.

Common Reasons Families Seek Lactation Support

You do not have to wait until you’re experiencing significant challenges to benefit from lactation support. Families often reach out for help with:
  • Pain during breastfeeding
  • Difficulty achieving or maintaining a latch
  • Concerns about milk supply
  • Slow weight gain or feeding efficiency
  • Pumping questions and troubleshooting
  • Bottle transitions
  • Returning to work
  • Weaning support
  • Premature birth or NICU discharge
  • Oral motor or feeding concerns
  • Tongue tie concerns
  • Building confidence in feeding routines

How We Can Help

Our lactation counseling services support families through every stage of their feeding journey, including:

Prepare for your baby’s arrival with education, feeding plans, and personalized guidance designed to help you feel confident from day one.

Receive individualized guidance for positioning, latch, milk transfer, and creating a comfortable, successful feeding experience.

We can help identify feeding challenges, support healthy weight gain, and provide recommendations tailored to your baby’s needs.

Learn effective pumping strategies, milk storage guidelines, and routines that fit your family’s lifestyle.

Whether you’re introducing bottles, building a pumping schedule, or planning for weaning, we’ll help create a plan that works for both you and your baby.

Our feeding-focused background allows us to support families whose infants may have medical, developmental, or feeding-related challenges.

In-Home and Virtual Support Available

Every family has different needs, which is why we offer flexible counseling options.

Receive personalized support in the comfort of your own home where feeding naturally occurs. In-home visits allow us to observe feeding routines within your family’s daily environment and provide practical, real-life recommendations.

Virtual appointments offer convenient access to expert support from anywhere in Colorado. These visits are ideal for prenatal counseling, follow-up support, pumping guidance, return-to-work planning, and many common breastfeeding concerns.

Why Front Range Pediatric Therapies?

Front Range Pediatric Therapies was founded by a Speech-Language Pathologist with specialized expertise in feeding and early intervention. What began as a passion for helping children and families thrive through feeding support has grown into a comprehensive pediatric therapy practice serving families throughout Colorado.
As we’ve grown, so have the ways we support families. Today, our team provides speech, occupational, physical, feeding, and lactation services through a collaborative, family-centered approach that focuses on empowering caregivers and supporting the whole child.
We understand that feeding challenges can impact not only nutrition, but also confidence, family routines, and emotional well-being. Our goal is to provide expert guidance while helping families feel supported, empowered, and capable throughout their journey.

Whether your goal is exclusive breastfeeding, combination feeding, pumping, or simply finding a feeding solution that works best for your family, we are committed to providing compassionate, judgment-free support.

I’m McKenzie, an Occupational Therapist, Certified Lactation Counselor, and proud mom.

After nursing my own child, I discovered a passion for supporting other mothers on their breastfeeding journeys. I believe every family deserves compassionate, individualized care that helps both mom and baby thrive.

By combining my expertise in occupational therapy and lactation, I help families overcome feeding challenges, build confidence, and establish healthy feeding habits from the very beginning. My mission is to empower parents with the knowledge and support they need to create a strong foundation for lifelong eating habits and wellness.
