Carly B

MA CCC-SLP

What got you interested in working with FRPT?

I was very excited when I saw an opening at FRPT, because I had heard of their reputation as a fantastic place to work and we had been wanting to move closer to family in the area so it was a huge win, win!

What is your favorite memory of being an SLP?

One of my favorite memories as an SLP is a little silly, but I was seeing a patient over video on his mother’s phone during COVID and he hid the phone in the refrigerator during our session! Which made it difficult for me to contact mom and tell her where he put me (also needed to tell her she was low on eggs from my vantage point LOL), but during those difficult time of learning tele-therapy on the fly, it made for a really great laugh!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy traveling and camping with my husband and our three year old daughter! We also enjoy trying new places to eat and breweries.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I’m partially color blind, which is very rare in women, but I do my best to not let it be very known.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

My favorite activity specifically for young children with speech sound disorders is ‘I spy’ during car rides. Weekly the family decides on a word that has some of our target sounds and everyone keeps an eye in the car for that word and then EVERYONE practices it right, practices it wrong and gets in on the work!
