What got you interested in working as a physical therapist?
From a young age I was always interested in healthcare as a profession, but physician or nurse never quite fit what I was looking for. Then I went to PT for myself in high school and immediately fell in love with the idea of helping people heal after an injury or incident. I had always enjoyed being around and working with kids, but tried to keep an open mind about what setting I wanted to go into (but I was kidding myself). After my first pediatric rotation in school, I never looked back! As for FRPT, I came from a smaller company that valued their therapists as people, not numbers or revenue-makers, and I am so thrilled to have found something similar in Denver!
What do you love most about working as a physical therapist?
My favorite memory as a PT so far is assisting one of my patients with walking across the stage at her high school graduation!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love rock climbing, hiking, and crocheting.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I’m a huge plant lady! I think I have over 30 houseplants.
What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?
I love encouraging families to use a dynamic sitting surface with normal daily activities to promote core strength and upright posture.
