Molly HF

OTD OTR/L
Colorado Springs Clinical Manager

What got you interested in working in OT or with FRPT?

OT: I previously worked for an adaptive sports organization where we offered adaptive skiing, whitewater rafting, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Through working with those clients, I learned about occupational therapy and realized I could have a much greater impact on their day-to-day lives by becoming an OTP. Working with FRPT: Autumn and Carissa, lol.

What do you love most about working as an occupational therapist?

Honestly, some of my most meaningful memories have come from working with families as they transitioned from rehabilitative services to palliative and hospice care. It’s such a vulnerable time filled with so many emotions, and being there to support families through those difficult conversations has had a profound impact on me both personally and professionally.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy hiking, discovering new restaurants, giving back to my community, and bringing people together. I also enjoy helping my husband with our endless house projects and spending time in the garden. I spend a lot of time with my parents as they age, which brings both beautiful and challenging moments, as it does with any family.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I grew up rock climbing almost every weekend, and if I had stuck with it, I probably could have competed at an amateur or even professional level. I haven’t rock climbed in years, but who knows where life will take us.

What is your favorite activity to encourage learning and growth with kids?

Getting outside or encouraging your child to move and be active. Also, remember that if you don’t talk about your feelings or model healthy ways of handling them, your child—whether young or older—will have a much harder time learning to manage their own emotions.

Is there anything else you want to share?

I’m really excited to work here!
